WINTERS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

ABOUT US

Our Chamber of Commerce is enthusiastic about Winters!

Greetings! The Chamber of Commerce serves the entire Winters business community, and strives to support of economic development and encourage a thriving, vibrant business environment. The Chamber’s scope stretches well beyond downtown, with members in neighboring cities, rural areas, home based businesses and a variety of businesses of every size and category.

The Chamber’s activities and interests include:

Events: The Chamber sponsors the annual Earthquake Street Festival in August, recognizes outstanding citizens and businesses at the annual Year in Review celebration in January, and coordinates with other local service clubs for community events and programs throughout the year, including Youth Day in April, the Outdoor Quilt & Textile Art Festival in June, the Festival de la Comunidad in September and annual Community Christmas Tree Lighting festivities on the first Saturday in December..

Outreach: The Chamber works with the Yolo County Visitors Bureau to highlight all that Winters has to offer. The Chamber office, located inside the Winters Visitors Center at 11 Main Street, serves as a concierge desk for anyone visiting Winters, and has information and recommendations about recreation, dining, lodging and entertainment. Chamber members receive announcements about upcoming activities, events and Chamber concerns. The Chamber also has a monthly page in the local newspaper, the Winters Express, to let the community know what the Chamber is working on.

Monthly Mixers allow business owners to invite the community and other business owners to come visit, socialize and promote what they have to offer. Mixers take place on the second Monday of each month from 5:30-7 p.m. at various locations. Call the Chamber office, 795-2329, for current information.

Education: The Chamber of Commerce supports future business leaders, employers and employees by co-sponsoring the Work Ready program at Winters High School, helping students learn interviewing skills and how to fill out a job application and write a resume.

Benefits: The benefits of membership include networking opportunities with other business owners and potential customers, promotion at the Vistors Center, a listing on the Chamber website and group health insurance through Western Health Advantage.
